Haley + Nick's Sweet ODESZA Wedding Vibes! Electric Wedding At Alhambra Hall Wedding Venue In Mount Pleasant, SC

Haley + Nick's Electric ODESZA Wedding Vibes @ Alhambra Hall Wedding Venue In The Old Village In Mount Pleasant.

Alright, I have to start off by saying we had way too much fun making this video and working with these guys, like, I don’t even know where to start.

Haley + Nick: Charleston Locals, Hypercreatives, Legends

You can’t watch this video without knowing how freakin’ cool these two cats are. Haley and Nick are both Charleston natives (a rara avis!)— Haley is in incrreeedddiibbllle jewelry designer and has the COOLEST freakin’ shop in Mount Pleasant called Hermosa Jewelry (You can shop online, too! Holla!)

It’s right next to Brown Fox Coffeeshop, and about 2 blocks from the iconic Paige’s Okra Grill (order the TJ’s Hot Mess - it’s my favorite biscuit!) Haley makes the most beautiful artisan jewelry - chic, luxury, and often times inspired by our low country flora and fauna. My personal favorite pieces I own from her are my gold -bordered mussel earrings - hand painting with gold foil (every time I wear these I get about 2 million compliments, they’re such a fun conversation starter when I go to any new social setting or networking event.)

I’ve known Haley for years personally, and she is a hyper-creative, driven AF, and such a beautiful presence to be around. Nick is a badass drone photographer — his stills of the low country are in. sane. These two together are such powerhouses of creativity and innovation, and if you haven’t figured it out yet, you know these are OUR PEOPLE!!

Day Of: Alhambra Hall Wedding Venue, An Mount Pleasant Old Village Gem.

Ahh, Alhambra Hall, an absolute wedding venue staple and an iconic spot of Mount Pleasant’s quaint Old Village. It’s simple, no-frills, and fully customizable — this venue is a blank canvas for whatever you want to have happen here. It’s got a beautiful oak tree in the corner of the property, we’ve seen couples dress the interior up completely, or go totally minimal on the interior. It’s a fantastic spot for your friends and family to enjoy the waterfront view during cocktail hour, it has a big open lawn, and it also doubles as a community park (this is the onlllyyy love/hate part about it — it’s vibrant in the local community, aaannddd there may or may not be someone playing fetch with their dog to the side of the lawn when your guests are arriving. Just telling it like it is.)

If you’re from out of town (like I am), here’s a little backstory and details on The Old Village District (courtesy of OldVillageDistrict.com )

“Known for its stately live oaks and historic houses, the roots of the Old Village of Mount Pleasant stretch back to the 18th century. Originally the location of summer homes for wealthy Charlestonians, one of the area’s oldest waterfront communities is now a year-round address for a mix of retirees, young families, and professionals.

The Shopping District

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the neighborhood, the small-town main street is a center for local events and home to vibrant independent businesses that provide a welcome alternative to the monotony of 21st-century chains and big-box shopping.

The Old Village District in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina has all the charm of a historic neighborhood combined with the vibe of a trendy shopping destination. You’ll find unique apparel, organic make-up, sample Italian wines, wander through an antiques store, sip a cappuccino, work out at a 24/7 gym, find a great hairstyle, order lunch at a classic soda fountain, or simply find a bench and breathe in the salty air.

You’ll find it hard to leave and harder to forget.”

Ohhh… Enticing AF, right? The Old Village is the cutest. A fun little tucked away area these days with all the latest restaurants and hot spots for eating, the Pitt Street Pharmacy is adorable with its soda fountain and lunch counter where you can order a hot dog while waiting for your prescriptions to be filled (Walgreens, you’re slackin’), and the Pitt Street Bridge is an iconic spot for catching sunsets; Alhambra Hall is nestled right in the middle of it all.

The Wedding Video Edit: Electric ODEZSA Vibes — YAAAASSSS Please!!

I’m going to let you in on a little secret — Odesza — the badass electric dance music artist — for some reason — their songs are FREAKING BRILLIANT AND PERFECT FOR WEDDING VIDEO EDITS. Odesza also has a special place in my heart personally — when my boyfriend Chris and I were first dating I took him to my homeland, and we went to the 2018 Austin City Limits Music Festival— when we walked onto the grounds we walked up mid-set to Odesza’s performance. It was ethereal. Talk about performers and artists, they had a full marching band on stage, I will never forget that moment of adrenaline, bass, and high-vibes with our fresh love affair blossoming.

So when Haley and Nick said, “We LOVE Odesza” in our initial consultation — it. was. on.

Music is SUCH a big part of our creative process and us “channeling the vibe” for a wedding video edit; we loved matching those beautiful moments when Haley put her dress on and took a moment to connect with her emotions in her bridal suite. Wearing that string of pearls that was from her grandmother’s set of pearls, and looking absolutely breathtaking — her energy in that moment was something we’ll never forget.

Anndd, We Got To Work With Some Of Our Besties — The Luscious And Legendary Sean Money And Elizabeth Fay.

Sean and Elizabeth are some of our favorite humans on the planet. I met them years ago while scrolling ironically through Haley’s Hermosa Instagram feed, I clicked through to Sean and Elizabeth’s Instagram and my heart skipped a beat as I saw some beautiful naked girl laying on some boulders looking all editorial and hot. “WHAT?! Someone in Charleston is actually doing something edgy and vibey?! I need to meet these humans!!” And we promptly set up our first date grabbing cocktails, and it’s just been a mad love affair ever since. Sean and Elizabeth — they are extremely creative, funky, and vibey in their photography style, AND they are absolute TEN STAR PROFREAKINFESSIONALS day-of.

When The Wedding Photos Are Great, But Your Wedding Photographer An Energetic Trainwreck.

I can’t stress this enough. It’s one thing to see someone’s work online, and you’re like, “Wow, their work is SO good!!!” but then to work with a wedding photographer day of and watch them run (literally), and be such a ball of nerves you can’t help but have your anal sphincter muscles tighten being in their presence.

Yelling things like, “SOFTEN YOUR FACE, JANET!! LESS TEETH. CHIN. DOWN! CHIN DOWN!!! LOWER YOUR CHIN DOWN!!” “HEY! YOU PEOPLE! YEAH, YOU! OKAY LINE UP. GUYS. GUYS!!! LISTEN!! Oh, these people. They just don’t listen.” — they might as well be screaming, “HELP! MY BABY’S ON THE ELEVENTH FLOOR OF THAT BURNING BUILDING — SOMEBODY HELP ME!!” — As videographers we, unfortunately, see this manic/crazy energy spewing out of visually talented photographers all too often, and couples book them and have no idea, and they end up spending their day being yelled at and feel like they’re herded like cattle and being a prop in some high-stress photoshoot production, rather than celebrating their MARRIAGE — so I say this because Sean and Elizabeth perpetually have some of the best energy we’ve ever seen on a wedding day from a wedding photographer team.

The teamwork these two exhibit together for group family photos is impeccable — I think we went through a 40 person family + bridal party workflow in maybe 10-12 minutes. Not even kidding.

They are so respectful, so calm; their relaxed, positive vibe puts every single person around them at ease. They are fun on legs, such creatives, and an absolute pleasure to work with. We CANNOT recommend working with them enough.

So getting to work together with our friends in those epic sunset under-the-veil shots was such a gift, and our ceremony filming workflow was on fleek.

Haley and Nick, you guys are the dang bomb.com — we had the best time getting to tell their wedding day story — their first look was SO. stinkin’ precious, and we love y’alls creative vibey energy.
