MOODY VIBES! Breanna + Brett's Sultry Rainy Day Wedding @ The Historic Rice Mill In Charleston, SC

Breanna and Brett celebrated their ROMANTIC, dreeaammmyyy rainy day wedding day right on the Charleston Harbor City Marina at the Historic Rice Mill wedding venue in downtown Charleston, South Carolina.

Breanna + Brett = Love At First Phone Call

I have to start by saying we fell in love with Breanna and Brett on our first phone call a year and a half earlier. Breanna's bubbly, down-to-earth personality made us so. stinkin. excited to be working with a couple that values creativity, doesn't care to "fit the mold", do what you're "supposed to" for your wedding day, and was creating a wedding day experience that matched their unique vibe.

These Two Come From A Long Line Of Badassery

Breanna comes from a wanderlust family of travelers, globe trotters - her grandparents had been to some 93 different countries in their lifetime, her dad has a background in film and helped film The Notebook back in the day (whaaaaaa?!!) And Brett comes from this long line of military badasses full of grit. #powercouple #ineedtohearallofthestoriesplease #canyouadoptme

We Got To Do THE MOODY VIBE!!

This power couple gave us the creative freedom to create a "MOODY" vibe has been SUCH a breath of fresh air for us creatively-- ugh, literally makes our hearts so happy. THE RAIN WAS OUR BESTIE-- Most couples dread rain on their wedding day, but looking back I can't tell you how strategic the rain was in creating this moody, edgy edit. And let me just say that Breanna and Brett’s wedding film goes into the Bucketlist category for us. Couples that let us add those boudoir, edgy, offbeat, quirky, eccentric, indie, whatever-you-want-to-call-it — the true creative freedom to make a story out of the footage that isn’t just set to Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles.

This is how we feel when we have to use stereotypical wedding songs for the highlight reel. I’m just saying.

It Was Freakin’ Cold. #WeHaveNoMoreLadyBits #WorthIt

Did we freeze our ladybits off standing in the cold rain getting those portrait shots on the end of the dock?

Did Shelby lose her sense of feeling in her fingers walking out to the City Marina boat docks to get those killer wide shots of this iconic and beloved Charleston wedding venue? Absofreakinlutely.

But was is unequivocally worth it? You bet your buttons it was.

Hearing “I'M OVER IT” = Our Love Language

Breanna and Brett were absolute troopers in the perfect blend of getting outside, getting those overcast gloomy, dreamy shots, and also standing in their truth when it was time to say, "Dude, it's freakin' cold and we're freezing our butts off. I'm over it." -- It's so POWERFUL and refreshing when couples speak up about making sure they have an amazing experience every moment of their day.

THE LEGENDARY MELL BELL

We had a BLAST working with the fantastic Mell Bell, of Richard Bell Photography and mellBella studios -- we freaking LOVE her, Nathan, and their crew -- they are always an absolute blast to work alongside, true professionals and collaborators to their core, and always work with us as a team to create an awesome experience from photographer/videographer to the couple and their family. We cannot recommend her, and the energy and ease she brings to a couples' wedding day enough.

Breanna and Brett, We Love You (And Alan Watts)

Breanna and Brett-- thank y'all SO much for trusting us to document your beautiful day, thank you for giving us the creative freedom to build out a video that's as unique as you guys are (When you mentioned Alan Watts, my heart skipped a beat.) We love and appreciate you guys so much!!
