Royall and Allston's GORGEOUS Spring Wedding @ Historic Arcadia Plantation In Georgetown, SC

Alright, I have to start off by saying we had way too much fun making this video and working with Allston and Royall’s amazing families-- I don’t even know where to start.

Ceremony Starting At 299-Year-Old Prince George Winyah Parish Church In Historic Georgetown, SC

Royall and Allston's wedding ceremony was at the idyllic Prince George Winyah Parish Church in Georgetown, SC -- to give you the context of how unique this church is -- 2021 marks its 300th year of being around!!!

Allston + Royall: Power Couple

Before we get into that-- you can’t watch this video without knowing how freakin’ cool these guys are.  Allston is in incrreeedddiibbllly talented jewelry designer, and candle designer here in town (  Snaffle Bit Bracelet Company and Plantation Candle Company -- their stuff is so cute!!!) and Royall is the ultimate outdoorsmen.

The Wedding Venue: historic Arcadia Plantation

Cocktail hour and reception followed at Arcadia Plantation -- an absolute historic gem of the low country. For our history buffs out there -- here's some context for this beautiful plantation:

"Arcadia Plantation, originally known as Prospect Hill Plantation, is a historic plantation house located near Georgetown, Georgetown County, South Carolina. The main portion of the house was built about 1794, as a two-story clapboard structure set upon a raised brick basement in the late-Georgian style. In 1906 Captain Isaac Edward Emerson, the "Bromo-Seltzer King" from Baltimore, purchased the property. Two flanking wings were added in the early 20th century. A series of terraced gardens extend from the front of the house toward the Waccamaw River. Also on the property is a large two-story guest house (c. 1910), tennis courts, a bowling alley, stables, five tenant houses, and a frame church. The property also contains two cemeteries and other plantation-related outbuildings."

Needless to say, these grounds were absolutely immaculate, iconic, and the day could not have been any more perfect for Royall and Allston to celebrate their love in the company of their friends and families.

The Edit

We wanted to create a wedding film that reflects the iconic, classic beauty Royall and Allston’s day with a deep tie into family tradition and legacy. It’s not every day we have the privilege of getting to document such historically significant, beautifully maintained places like Arcadia and Prince George Winyah Church that are such testaments to the low country’s story through the eras. The more we researched the history and story of Arcadia Plantation, we realized it’s a place that is rich in legacy.

I (Shelby) had so much fun working with Allston’s mother, Dawn, hearing about these two beautiful families, the vision of the day, and learning about Allston and Royall’s style. So knowing this place beautiful meaning for this couple and their families, we wanted the video to feel almost like looking through an old family photo album. Something personal. Warm undertones with a nod to generations past, yet also immersed in the presence today’s family and friends.

We had so much fun exploring different filters that replicated old film cameras, and also sound-scoring that feels personal, bright, and familiar. Aesthetics aside, whoever turning their scarf into a limbo set up during the reception was absolutely brilliant. Two of my personal favorite moments were watching Allston and Royall on stage dancing alongside their parents and friends and seeing them walk through the glow of sparklers; fancifully getting away in that LEGENDARY Bronco with their pheasant feather crowns. Absolutely delightful.

Without further ado — here’s Royall and Allston’s wedding film.

Congratulations you guys!!! We wish you and your families all the best!!!
