Obstinate Daughter is one of our favorite lunch + dinner spots on Sullivan’s!

So you’re doing a beach day out on Sullivans Island? Where should you take the girls for something sweet, something cool, something HOT, something salty? Here are our favorite little spots that stand out on Sullivan’s Island.

Sullivan's Island: Our Favorite Places To Eat And Drink For Your Girls Getaway Weekend In Charleston SC

A Note From Your Authors: This feature is part of a multi-part series we created with the girls at Reagan Events— Reagan Kerr and her assistant Hannah Hunter, and myself, Shelby Ring of Ruby Riot Creatives wedding videography. We love us some tasty snacks, some bougie cocktails, super vibey bars we can dress up or down in to feel super cute, and creating fun times with girlfriends, so here’s our take as late twenty-thirty-something Charleston locals on some of our favorite restaruants on Sullivans that are sure to be a crowd-pleaser for your girl’s getaway weekend in Charleston, South Carolina.

Home Team BBQ For A Game Changer (Or Two) + Smoked Wings

Home Team BBQ on Sullivans Island is always a go-to. They also have locations downtown and West Ashley, too! Home Team BBQ is a good day drinking spot. You have to order a Game Changer. Two game-changers will really put you over! And their big ol’ smoked chicken wings are freakin’ fantastic with their perfectly sweet-salty-smokey rub. Home Team’s wings go pretty well with some pork skins and pimento cheese if you want to make it a legit southern affair!

Poe’s Tavern For A Legit Burger

Poe’s Tavern on Sullivans Island is a great day drinking spot- and their burgers are SO GOOD! SO many amazing combinations. And the interior space is so fun at Poe’s. It’s all Edgar Allan Poe themed after his time he lived on Sullivan’s Island, so the whole aesthetic is really cool.

Obstinate Daughter For Wood-Fired Pizza, Charcuterie, & Gnocchi

Obstinate Daughter is a favorite for lunch. It's a more like put-together lunch spot. They're great for brunch as well. If you want some raw oysters, they usually have a fun selection. I love the back story behind the restaurant’s name, too. Very iconic Charleston!

BeardCat’s On Sullivan’s Island For Something Sweet

A nod to my fellow cat lovers — If I’m doing Sullivan's Island day with some friends in town, I'll finish off with lunch or dinner at Obstinate Daughter as well. And then there's BeardCat’s Sweet Shop below that if you want something sweet. They have gelato, sweet treats, cookies; it’s a really cute shop. And their logo is a man with a cat in his beard, do I need to say anymore? Very beach iconic and cute AF.

The Co-Op: Frozen Rosé And The Best Social Media Account You Should Be Following

If you’re not following The Co-Op’s social media accounts, do yourself a favor and follow NOW. Premium content.

Speaking of iconic - The Co-op On Sullivans Island. They have Rosé-To-Go for your beach day. If you’re hanging out at your beach house all day or you’re heading out to play on the beach (although it is a no-alcohol on the beach and no open container policy out at Sullivan's, so we’ll just tell you to be crafty and aware and leave it at that…Or charter a boat for the day, and you can drink on the boat!) The Co-op’s Rosé to-go is what you need to stock up on before your beach day. If you’re staying on Sullivan’s Island, The Co-op will deliver Frosé to you. Oh, man…Charleston has a drinking problem. They even have a Rosé CBD drink. And I think The Co-op is opening another location downtown, too! The new location is on cannon or spring. It's right by Babas.
