Breaking the Mold: A Vegas-Style Wedding in Charleston's Historic Cedar Room

Forget the frills and formalities – Alie and Jason's wedding was a party with vows, a celebration of their unconventional love story in the heart of Charleston's historic Cigar Factory. As a luxury wedding videographer, I was stoked to capture their rebellious spirit and chic style in this iconic venue.

Five days In, We Tried To Get Married: Alie + Jason’s Story

Alie and Jason are bold and styley AF — and their love story is on par with their style and BIG energy. I fell in love with Alie and their vibe from our first phone call — I felt like I was talking to the sixth member of the Spice Girls. She’s all spunk and spice, Jason’s strength and confidence (and dare I say swagger??) these two together are real movers and shakers.

Both having an eye for business and development… I’m pretty sure if you looked up the definition of “Power Couple” — you’d see Alie and Jason’s faces as the reference.

“It’s A Big Party With Vows.”

Something that’s stuck with me from meeting Alie and Jason and their dynamic together * And their crazy schedule filled with all kinds of logistic maneuvering * is the way she described how they move at their own pace together. Truly marching to the beat of their own drum - something I so appreciate in the vantage point I have of meeting and observing so many different loves.

These two are fiercely independent, kind, get sh*t done, and do it in style.

Alie described their wedding from Day One as “A party with vows” and that’s exactly how this Cedar Room evening played out.

There were blackjack tables, poker tables, and their guests (ages 3-70) were constantly rotating the tables, placing bets. Stephen Darby was performing live and DJing across the room for the dancing crew, and the whole space was brimming with excited energy celebrating these two.

These two got ready at the lovely Hotel Bennett. The girls getting ready was darling. And that IMPROMPTU BATH TUB PHOTO SHOOT (I’m still swooning.) Alie and Jason helping one another get ready (he held the mirror for her as she got ready - so gorgeous.) There’s something so special about when a couple gets ready together.

Their whirlwind romance, which started with a brunch date and led to a spontaneous attempt to elope in Key West, is a testament to their adventurous spirit and unwavering love for each other. Their Cedar Room wedding was a reflection of their unique journey – bold, stylish, and anything but ordinary.

Room rental fees include use of The Cedar Room and its Courtyard for five hours of event time with six hours pre-event set-up and two hours post-event breakdown.

• Capacity : Courtyard 200 seated; The Cedar Room up to 550 guests

• Features : The space features a bridal suite, built-in bar, and a courtyard with 1,500 square feet of additional event space. Onsite parking for guests is available after 5:00 pm.
